Hailing from New Orleans, LA, the band consists of six childhood church friends. "Our parents sang in the church choir together," explains singer Lucas Way. "Of course when we got older we wanted to sing too, but in a bit of a different capacity." That "different capacity" consisted of leading praise and worship on youth Sundays at St. Mark Apostolic Church on The Big Easy's East Side. "We could all bring something unique to the service and we brought it big time! Of course the elders weren't so sure of it but the younger crowd was pretty receptive and off we went!"
"We were just recording little praise and worship songs and just giving them to the people in the church," tells guitarist Kain Wilson. "We weren't looking for a deal or to get signed or anything. People wanted to hear us more than just one Sunday morning out of a month and this was the way to do that. One of our songs fell into the right hands and here we are."
Cameron Morris, the resident acoustic guitarist and also the youngest of the band is taking it all in stride. "We get to travel and share the Word of God with people beyond our neighborhood. It happened so fast and as fast as it happened, it can be taken away. We're not taking a second of it for granted!"
